As you choose a locksmith in McKinney, keep a few local tips in mind. First, always ask for a detailed estimate before any work begins — a fair price for a standard lockout in McKinney typically ranges from $75 to $150, with no hidden fees for after-hours service. Second, the best time to hire for non-emergency work is mid-morning on a weekday, when locksmiths are less busy and can often offer quicker turnaround. Finally, don’t hesitate to ask if they are licensed by the Texas Department of Public Security (TDPS) — it’s a simple question that separates true professionals from fly-by-night operators.
